Agree with Gary here! It doesn't matter WHAT version of Windows you are running,
anything
from 3.0 up to be exact (I don't think anybody actually USES 2.0 or below, do you?)
benefits
most from plenty of hard drive space. And Win9X even MORE SO!!! That's important
folks...if
you are running Win95 or 98SE, I think it's much better to let Windows control the
swap file...I
know, some folks like to set limits on the amount of HD terrritory allowed, but face
it...MS
designed Win95 and 98 to "dynamically" allot HD space for swap. Anything less than 100
meg free space on your swap drive, and Win95/98 starts to panic. If your Win swap
drive has
less space, you might be better off setting limits yourself...take my advice and set
both
minimum and maximum size THE SAME in Win9X. In Win3X use a "permament" swap file of
about twice the installed RAM. So, for a 16 meg system with Win3.1,m use a 32 meg swap
file...in Win95, I recommend a bit more...about 3x installed RAM! That same machine
with
Win95 or 98 will need a 48 meg swap file. Unless...you do absolutely NO
multi-tasking, hehe!
But, if you are not multi-tasking, your wasting a lot of resources for a fancy shell
to your apps!
Just ,my opinion though!
