To some of you it's preaching to the convinced, but annway -
announcing (as it is _not_ uploaded to SimTel any more):

1. ReRead
=========
An updated version 4.40 of ReRead is now available, at its homepage:
www.inti.be/hammer/download.htm ==> rread4xx.zip (ca. 107 KB)
ReRead is done strictly for the DOS Text Mode standard and uses only
DOS BIOS I/O functions, thus is speech/Braille friendly, and needs
only small memory resources (ca.200K, listing files up to >100 MB).
ReRead is an offline reader for all types of downloaded mail/news
folders, for instance the MAIL.DLU type of Nettamer download mail/news
files, or of other mailers which store items directly as downloaded
(Netscape "folders" e.a.).
And it is a general text file lister, with lots of hook-ins, e.g. for
editors and HTML-decoders.
Basic file handling functions allow to use it as a shell for general DOS
tasks, with ergonomical ways for "householding".
The functional core of ReRead is a comfortable copy/paste (or print)
functionality with flexible target filename buffers, easy switching
between targets/sources and drives and directory tree navigating,
hot-key invocation of editors and decoders to be hooked-in, etc.

2. MAILING PACKAGE
==================
There's a small and highly versatile mailing (and netting) package build
on LADSOFT's LSppp packet driver and Marc Ressl's NETMAIL, with ReRead
as the general DOS shell to write, read, and process mail:
www.inti.be/hammer/download.htm ==> mailing1.zip (ca. 309 KB)
It offers a neatly compact setup which is easy to expand for use of
the full Net functions with DOS (just add other clients like the Lynx
browser, FTP, or Telnet, to run through LSppp).
Find some of them, and links to many others, at the ReRead homepage.
