Hiya gang,
What most of you are forgetting is that the default installation of Win9X
will NOT DISPLAY the file extension of ANY file already "registered" in
Windows. So, a user gets sent an email with what looks like a typical
HTML link...they click on it out of curiosity or whatever...their machine
is now infected. That's the main reason why I held out for 3 years before
installing Win95 on my 486DX4 back in 1998. And, when I did install 95,
I made sure the option to show all files irregardless of filename/extension
was enabled. Most users, on the other hand, wouldn't know a TXT text file
from a DOC Word97 document file...they only know when they double-click on
it Word or WordPad or whatever displays the file.
