*puzzled look*  What was that apropos of?  Or have I missed something?

For what it's worth, an ISP (or group of ISPs) could have the same setup on
the Internet; the mailservers don't have to gateway out or in to any domain
it doesn't want to, so you could rig it such that one central server did
Internet mail gatewaying if needed, and the others just relayed mail to
users of the collective...
