It's actually not as scary as what I'm reading that they really have in
mind with Palladium. Microsoft and marketeers having access to my data
is bad enough. Giving the government actual CONTROL of my desktop takes
it to a new level. Mike Miller posted a nice summary of Palladium on the
LifeRaft list recently - http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~rja14/tcpa-faq.html -
and I'm sure there are others.

However, I think that by design, Palladium will NOT work on anything
surv-ish. Suffice to say, these are the reasons I like open source
alternatives that not only work on older systems, but also allow the
OWNER to maintain control.
