It's actually not as scary as what I'm reading that they really have in mind with Palladium. Microsoft and marketeers having access to my data is bad enough. Giving the government actual CONTROL of my desktop takes it to a new level. Mike Miller posted a nice summary of Palladium on the LifeRaft list recently - http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~rja14/tcpa-faq.html - and I'm sure there are others. However, I think that by design, Palladium will NOT work on anything surv-ish. Suffice to say, these are the reasons I like open source alternatives that not only work on older systems, but also allow the OWNER to maintain control. - Bob (Who'd rather worry about wearing the SysAdmin hat than having the Government do it for him) To unsubscribe from SURVPC send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe SURVPC in the body of the message.
