hello nick

maybe this will work

pull out the hdd from your 486 with the PCI
and install it in the other 486 pc

unhide the drvspace.ini file in your other 486 pc
by this command :
attrib -s -h -r drvspace.ini

then edit that txt file .. the drvspace.ini file
by
adding the line :
ActivateDrive=F,D0

also increase the lastdrive to F

this should get the drvspace.000 file on
that hard-disk loaded as a drive
you could backup the data, programs, etc

and then format that hdd altogether

now you can run your win95 and
run the drvspace program
and create a new compressed
drive on that other hdd

unfortunately win95 upwards do
not allow creating compressed drive
from command.line

after creating the drvspace.000
compressed drive on that hdd ..
you will need to also transfer the
system there .. and most importantly
the drvspace.ini file there

should give you an empty blank
hdd with a compressed drive too

if that is made master and the other
one the slave or secondary master
(you may have that possibility on
the 486 with pci slots) .. you can
copy back the backed up data ..
programs and win95 will need to
be reloaded of course

..pk
