I have Windows 3.1 installed on two of my machines, and run it
occasionally to use some older graphics programs I have that demand
Windows. Both machines are set to boot to DOS, though, and are used
primarily for DOS apps.

Right now my favourite vintage machine, that I use every day, is a
GRiD1520 286 laptop. It is a titanium case former military machine, and
still in excellent shape at around 15 years of age. I use it for writing
small C and QuickBasic programs, and word processing. It is a true
classic, in my opinion, and a pleasure to work on... once you get used to
the non-standard keyboard.

Of course, it is no replacement for a modern machine.... but is sure is
fun!
