Most interesting........
According to the login screens I am running Kernel 2.0.35.
This is out of the box (or jewelcase). I have never undertaken a kernel recompile
before......Actually, it seems kinda scary :-)
However, I will get to it hopefully by the end of the week.
Oh another quick question. I have seen a lot of 2.1.x kernels.
Firstly, are they stable?!
Secondly.....are all linux kernels independent of distributions?
According to www.kernel.org the latest version is 2.1.132.
Can I download that and install it on my SuSE 5.3 box? or does it have to go
through some modifications by SuSE first and then be available at their ftp site?!
