Hello!
I'm completely newbie waiting to receive my 1st Linux SuSE 6.0 from my local reseller.

It's time to try Linux after years spent with OS/2. :)

I've seen on the Internet that Fujitsu DynaMO 640 disks cannot wotk with 2.036 kernel
because it lacks
2048 bytes/sector support.

There is some patch for this, but I'm interested is it better to patch the kernel or
go straight with 2.2.1?

How troublesome is to upgrade the kernel in SuSE 6.0 to 2.2.1?

On the mirror for the kernel, I saw there is also some patch for it?

What source files I need for 2.2.1 upgrade?
Thanks,
Sasa
P.S. I'm happy to see lot of traffic here - it means that there is hope to get right
help when needed.
One reason more to give Linux a fair try.

Any suggestion for the backup solution for my stand-alone machine using Fujitsu 640 MO
disks?
