You'll miss at least one thing from OS/2 ... the WPS, i was a member of local
Team OS/2 since last year when i leave it.

No probs to compile the entire kernel 2.2.1 on SuSE 6.0, i've done it about 2-3
times without any probs.

The patch is only if you have a previous kernel and don't want to download the
full kernel. But there's no reasons to prefer one, other then the Megs
necessary for the download.

Get the linux-2.2.1.tar.gz file from one of the mirrors you'll find on the
internet.
