Hello SuSE folks!

I have a dual processor PII 400 SuSE 6.0 Linux box. I compiled kernel
with SMP=1 enabled in the Make file. When I used original 2.0.36 kernel
which came with distro I had a total of 801.18 bogomips on the both
processors. cpu0 - 400.59 bogomips cpu1 - 400.59 bogomips Looks like the
system load on the both processors was splitted evently. When I
downloaded and compiled a new 2.2.4 kernel with SMP option enabled, I
got the total of 800.36 bogomips on the both processors. cpu0 - 400.59
bogomips cpu1 - 399.77 bogomips Why these values are so different ? I
suspected that there was something wrong with cpu1. I changed the new
kernel to the old original one and again I got all previous bogomips
values on the both processors as 400.59 and 400.59 Does it mean that the
new 2.2.4 kernel splits processor load unevently or I should change
something in somewhere. Does somebody know what represents bogomips as a
parameter in a general meaning?

Thank you in advance

Alex
