I would begin by checking out whether /etc/resolv.conf points toward
real dns hosts out there  in the cloud somewhere.  I would also make
sure that /etc/hosts points at some real IP stuff.  You may have told
yast to write over resolv.conf with its own version.  I always turn off
all those options when I change the system wide config file.
