Downloading and compiling 2.4.19 was a success. cdrecord now works.

However I do notice that the kernel has trouble keeping up to a 16x scsi
drive about 100mb into any burn. Even in console-only mode, I can only do
12x.

I have an Ultra 2 w/ two 300 Mhz processors. This should be able to keep up
to a 16x burner? Or should I suspect something wrong? SCSI bus is
terminated after the external CD burner.
