I just converted from a SuSE install to Gentoo on my Ultra-2. I must say that it's much more polished, and has much better support from the community. There are a couple of options for the initial install, so that you don't have to compile _everything_ if you don't want to. Of course, if you do, you'll have complete control over the system and the optimizations. Here is the Gentoo on Sparc forum: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewforum.php?f=27 And here is the install doc: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-sparc-install.xml For your first time, you'll probably want the stage-3 install. That'll get you up and running without a lot of compilation. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
