you passionate about helping people make more informed energy choices? Are
you looking for a job where you can use your skills and experience to make
a difference in your community?


Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County (NY) is looking for an
educator to join our Energy Team. We’re looking for someone with hands-on
experience showing homeowners, renters, business owners, and others in our
community how to reduce their energy use. This person will lead a diverse
team of passionate staff and work collaboratively with many community
partners on innovative and creative education and outreach efforts designed
to help people better understand their energy use and take steps to reduce
it and transition to clean energy sources.


The Energy Educator will assist in creating engaging and effective programs
and be responsible for delivering those programs to a wide range of
community members. The successful candidate will work closely with other
Energy Team members and supervise staff, volunteers and interns in program
delivery. We are seeking a new team member to work with us from our
Binghamton offices. The position is 40-hours per week and based in Ithaca,
NY.


Qualifications/Experience:

·         Bachelors Degree plus minimum 2 years field experience in energy
or energy efficiency

·         Experience with educational programming about energy efficiency
and/or renewable energy

·         Experience working independently and as a team member

·         Experience working as a volunteer or volunteer supervisor

·         Ability and willingness to build relationships and work with
diverse audiences, environments, and settings while maintaining cultural
competency

·         Demonstrated experience and skills in verbal and written
communication

·         Ability to plan and organize personal work responsibilities
according to priorities developed with immediate supervisor

·         Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings and/or
weekends

·         Ability to meet travel requirements associated with position

·         Must meet acceptable background check standard

Additional Qualifications/Experience (any of these will improve your
application)

·         Experience establishing and working with community stakeholders

·         Social media experience

·         Design or desktop publishing

·         Public relations or media experience

·         Website development

·         Fundraising or grantwriting experience

·         Active NYS driver’s license
