Hello Jorge For ethyl esters biodiesel using ethanol, see: http://journeytoforever.org/biodiesel_link.html#ethylester You'll probably have to use some methanol as well as the ethanol to get it to separate properly. There's also information there on drying the ethanol. Also, do a search for "Provost" at the Biofuel list archive - list member Ken Provost has done a lot of work with ethanol biodiesel: http://archive.nnytech.net/index.php?list=biofuel If it's crude palm oil you want to work with, you could have problems - do a search for "Allen" here, where this problem was recently discussed (and solved), see the thread "hi ffa feed stocks", and subsequent messages. http://archive.nnytech.net/index.php?list=biofuels-biz Refined palm oil should be okay, but the biodiesel has quite a high cloud point - that should be no problem in Quito! Fish oil has a high Iodine Value and is a drying oil - the biodiesel will be less so, but might still give problems with polymerization (it sets like hard plastic). Try it and see, but do some tests first before you put it in your motor. Iodine Values http://journeytoforever.org/biodiesel_yield.html#iodine Best wishes Keith ------------------------ Yahoo!
