My first trial batch had to go awry... The new blender I was mixing the lye and
methanol with basically broke- there was something that was floating around in
the jar and the deadly mixture started leaking out onto the bench. That's what
I get for choosing the cheapest blender possible. So I unplugged it and tossed
the blender and poured out the mixture into a nearby container.

Question is how do I neutralize this mixture? I used vinegar on the bench
followed up by some water to clean up the spill. Did I do the right thing?
What should I do with the small amount of sodium methoxide?

Thanks,
Todd
