I just got a call from someone about a huge conical steel tank that is available in northern california- free of charge. the man who told me about it hopes that a biodiesel producer will get it- I think it was part of a batch of surplus winery equipment that the same man found for other biodieselers (there is no longer anything else available from this purchase, other than this free 3500 gallon tank) Only catch is that the winery wants someone to take it ASAP- and more importantly, they want to confirm that you want it by three days from now, this Monday.
Here's the details the man told me, although I personally have not seen it: 3500 gallons capacity stainless steel, conical bottom tank, came from a winery. steam jacketed, dimensions approximately 20' high by 7' diameter weight (empty) is approximately 14,000-16000 pounds (I think). it is supposed to be in good condition. tank is free, located in Napa (I think) to move it you'd need to pay for a crane to lift it out of it's containment walls, and for pay for delivery by flatbed truck. I have no figures on what the freight might cost. I called all the producers I know, and hope that it's just what one of you is looking for. Monday is rather short-notice of course to decide on something like this.
