That it's not - it's an email discussion list with a web interface and an independent archives. There are three options for members: individual emails (the default), where all messages are posted to you by email; a daily digest, a single message containing all that day's posts sent by email once a day; and web only - no emails, where you use the web board to read and respond to messages. Your subscription is set to individual emails, so you're using the group as an email list, not a message board, and should be receiving all posts by email.
