As far as I know all the planning to date for the waterfront area anticipates
that the Farmers Market will be at Steamboat Landing for many years to come.
I think too that the Farmers Market just renewed its lease with the City for
the land.
I broached the idea of a central market only as a possible alternative to the
Wegmans/WalMart centralized distribution and sales system. I think that the
central market concept is different enough from the farmers market concept that
both could coexist locally and even complement each other.
