That's because we are leaving the technical world and entering the
realms of human psychology. :)
But to be short: yes I know it looks strange, will do what I can to
implement it properly.
Adding a timestamp value to each package is the easiest way to figure
out the age of a package. :-D
True. But then there's another problem: the human factor. Having humans
enter valid metadata is hard, I learned that when I was responsible for
package repositories of FreeDOS. It is why I greatly simplified the pkg
metadata used in SvarDOS. It's only two lines: a description and a
version string, that's the bare minimum. I'd prefer to keep it that way,
although I might revisit if the version-comparing code I will create
ends up to be not satisfactory.
