Hi Rick, Yes, I have experimented with converting Internet Explorer screen captures to SVG (raster encapsulated in SVG code via Beatware Mobile Designer) and the screen looks nice until it gets scaled, then you see that it gets blurry. This discussion is also going on in some other threads here and I do appreciate all the feedback I can gather.
I would think that a software and/or hardware designer could make some serious cash if they could create a way to vectorize any screen displayed either in a smart browser or through a feature of a video card. If I create (from scratch) a simulation of the Google Page in Internet Explorer using Adobe Illustrator and then save that page to SVG format. That page should scale with good quality. Now if I take a high quality raster of that IE (Google) page and then wrap SVG code around it and display that - well I think the hand drawn screen will have a lot more quality to the encapsulated screen. If I was tasked with changing the version number of a software package that was repeated in hundreds of screens and each screen was in SVG format, well I could do a global find and replace and instantly update all the screens. This would save hundreds of hours of work. This is one of the main reasons why I need "100 percent TRUE" SVG format for all of my screenshots. Not only does the customer require it, but it saves time when updates are needed. And software designers are constantly changing (patching and adding new features to software)their product. With that said, having smooth and fluid access to the screens is high desired. I appreciate your feedback and any additional feedback you can send my way. I was told about a BATIK product and will explore that now.
