Hi,

I would also look at the option to convert the SVGs to PDF for printing,
instead of
generating raster images. Batik/FOP can convert to PDF and raster images,
although
sometimes graphics elements are rasterized in the final SVG, esp. when opacity
and filters
are used.

Also, there is meanwhile a large number of XSL-FO converters that can read SVG
and
output PDF. Antenna house, a japanese company, does a pretty good job with SVG
to PDF
conversion, so do others.

any way to convert SVG into a raster image?
