The earlier attempt to use build.bat created a BUILD FAILED message .. Inspecting build.bat I saw reference to Ant and Xerces. and since I had these as pre- defined Environment Variables, suspecting a conflict, I disabled these and rebooted.. I was then able to see more action by running build.bat (no failure this time), but it seems that arguments are needed to build.bat. I decided to switch to the pre-built version of batik-1.6 until I can fathom out how to use build.bat. And I do have .. %JAVA_HOME% = c:\java\j2sdk1.4.2_08 in Win XP Pro. _______________________________________________ Using the batik-ttf2svg in pre-built batik-1.6 (2005-11-08) I tried again to convert Mathematica1.ttf and symbol.ttf .. but got exactly the same results as reported earlier in this thread. Blank character boxes. _______________________________________________ One solution is to embed a Flash movie with maths fonts, instead of SVG. scalable Inman Flash Replacement (sIFR) is an alternative approach for embedded fonts. A flash movie dedicated to each font is used for embedding custom text in HTML div container. http://www.mikeindustries.com/blog/ http://www.mikeindustries.com/sifr/ This means mixing SWF and SVG but quite feasible if content is embedded in different div containers. _______________________________________________ It would be nice to see a total SVG solution one day in batik. I will try fontforge and also autotrace. And SWF2SVG (online site) did not work for me when I tried to upload Mathematica1.swf to convert to Mathematica1.svg. _______________________________________________ DL [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------ Yahoo!
