I read about a general vector graphics format converter:

haven't tried it myself - but there might be room for cooperation in this 
project.

Than there is also Apache Batik that can convert SVG to various other formats 
(PDF, PS) in 
conjunction with FOP.

Also, almost any other XSL-FO engine (most of them are commercial) can convert 
convert 
SVG to other common formats, such as PDF/PS/EPS.
