Use setAttributeNS(). I've never had a problem with this in either
Firefox or Opera. Just remember that the attributes on SVG entities
are in the null namespace:
var someSVGCircleElement = document.getElementById("foo");
someSVGCircleElement.setAttributeNS(null, "cx", 300);
