I agree, but the cool thing about Sam Ruby's demonstration* to me, is that it sorta suggests that support for SVG by Microsoft would not be too difficult to attain. Perhaps when they decide it is time to support SVG, they can just flip a switch somewhere in their Silverlight plugin and the happy bits will flow from the svigot (sp?). Maybe it's just that no one has spoken the magic word yet. I'd guess, though, that it might take a while to get the graphics and animation engines you mention up to snuff? Maybe IBM could lend them one? It might be a fitting payback for back when Microsoft lent DOS to IBM. I'll bet Adobe might have some unused code sitting on a shelf somewhere.
