Great! Your sample is crashing my IE7+ASV6beta environment! :-D Probably due to a know issue where loading several simultaneous SVG objects leads to a high instability state of Internet Explorer (crash occurs in mshtml.dll, IE's rendering engine DLL. Nevertheless it's not clear that the crash is provoked by an invalid sequence of operations on the ASV side, for example). > <embed> is <i>one</i> of the only ways I've been able to verify that SVG > - HTML scripting will work across browsers. > > A few remarks, though that qualify this: > > 1. Yes, I've also already mentioned in a couple of previous posts [1] [2] a simple but effective tutorial [3] on how to accomplish it. Give it a try! ;-) > 2. Although this is highly improvable, due to the commercial interests involved, I'd love to see some community/public initiative with this in mind (maybe a petition online or similar). :-) > 3. I wouldn't risk throwing a number as ASV was, AFAIK, mostly deployed when embedded into Adobe (Acrobat) Reader. As Adobe Reader evolved, the application's automatic update feature made sure ASV (as we see it) may already been unplugged from most (?) Internet connected machines... :-| As a final note, I believe that using an HTML fallback with a static image (if applicable) or a link+instructions on how to install ASV (or any other alternative) plug-in is a simple yet effective approach. :-) Regards, Helder Magalhães [1] http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/svg-developers/message/60373 [2] http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/svg-developers/message/60763 [3] http://joliclic.free.fr/html/object-tag/en/object-svg.html ------------------------------------ ----- To unsubscribe send a message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -or- visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/svg-developers and click "edit my membership" ----Yahoo!
