Ahhh... so Helder... it must have been you from whom I learned the trick [1] of

<object type="image/svg+xml" data="data/test.svg" width="320" height="240">
  <param name="src" value="data/test.svg">
  alt : <a href="data/test.svg">test.svg</a>
</object>

to make <object> work in IEASV.

I remember seeing the page you refer to on that topic some months ago and then
forgetting where I saw it. It turns out that it came in rather handy at SVG
Open.

A big question for me about the above, is that since Adobe disabled scripting
through <object> in ASV3.01 [2] due to security concerns; and since this
disabling seems to explain (conjecture) why <object> doesn't work in ASV3.03 as
well; and since the above work-around actually works in ASV3.03, does that mean
that the security concerns expressed in the Adobe disabling of <object> have
now re-arisen through the workaround?

ASV6 seems a lot less stable than ASV3 to me for stuff like that, though even
IE/ASV3 seems to crash when you put more than 20 or so SVG embeds (or objects)
in an HTML. Question: Helder, with ASV6, can you see
http://srufaculty.sru.edu/david.dailey/svg/intro/PartA.htm alright without ASV6
crashing? If so, it may be some of the funky code[3] in that other page
(http://srufaculty.sru.edu/david.dailey/javascript/frames/objectTest.html) -- I
recall some things becoming quite odd there when I moved from IE6 to IE7.

cheers
David

under 3.01.
[3] I think the use of JavaScript may have been just a bit too elegant. It's a
functional language right?
