Hi Richard, Adaptive technology is just catching up with SVG. The only accessible SVG viewer is the Iveo viewer from View Plus Technologies at http://www.viewplustech.com. I expect this situation to change since SVG is now becoming a part of the DAISY format which will eventually become Epub 4 so more SVG will be produced.
What is the link to your web comic? Hi, I've tried to make my web comic more accessible by using desc elements (for example, I have descriptions of each scene and a desc for writing which uses paths rather than text) but I don't enough about accessibility software to tell if it's effective. I'm assuming that text elements can be detected and handled. Is the software you use generally available? Is there any accessibility software for SVG (or XML generally). I'd have thought it would be easy enough to write a program that went through an SVG file and rendered any text, title and desc elements as large text or speach but perhaps I'm being nave.
