Compare the files at http://cs.sru.edu/~ddailey/svg/feTurbulence8.svg
and http://cs.sru.edu/~ddailey/svg/feTurbulence9.svg . Both work pretty much the same in both Opera and Firefox (though IE/ASV is quite unhappy with the first one, and webkit doesn't seem to sit at this table yet) The first has two rects - the one atop has transparency applied to feTurbulence - the one underneath has animation The second has the two filter effects laid into the same filter using feBlend and two mergeNodes. Except for a bit of unexpected color difference between the two in both browsers (why would that be?) I had expected timing differences and that chaining in one filter would be faster than building two objects and two filter tags, however that doesn't seem to happen. Shouldn't we expect the two to be the same in appearance, however?
