Only Opera and IE/ASV handle it (and ASV is a little flaky) so it might be
worth the 45 seconds (or whatever ) to download Opera (though not Opera Next
alpha where it doesn't work). The animation begins in FF, but then chokes.

It is quasi-continuous since I didn't want it to repeat itself (well at
least not for 4.75 hours when I think it does . 135 x 7 x 9x2 s = 17010
seconds) and since I used keyTimes on the animation of the baseFrequency to
swap values of seed when the baseFrequency is at its lowest.

The seamlessness of tiles as they are dragged through the pattern space is a
trick I discovered recently and used for SVG Open in

http://srufaculty.sru.edu/david.dailey/svg/text/ripples11.svg

http://srufaculty.sru.edu/david.dailey/svg/text/fire7.svg and

http://srufaculty.sru.edu/david.dailey/svg/text/bubbles8.svg

 (again Opera is needed for these)

That is, turbulence is laid into a rectangle that is then mirrored about its
bottom edge. Doing this ensures that tiling will be seamless through the
rectangle (though the higher derivatives of the edge are discontinuous). The
turbulence has its transparency eliminated through

<feComponentTransfer>

  <feFuncA type='linear' intercept="1" slope='0' />

</feComponentTransfer>

The result consists of colors very much in the R, G and B parts of the
spectrum, so I've rotated the hues with

                <animate attributeName="values" values="0;90;180; 270;360"

dur="2s" repeatCount="indefinite" />

                </feColorMatrix>

To allow secondary colors to have an appearance as well.

The for interest, the size of the pattern space is oscillated (with
different frequencies for x and y).

Cheers

David
