We're currently working on 1.8 compatibility and pre-alpha version (not ready for production) is in SVNKit's repository trunk. Changes in 1.8 (comparing to 1.7) are much less dramatic than those made in 1.7 (in comparison to 1.6), so sure new version of SVNKit will not be that far behind this time. We already have read and update operation working with new working copy format, however not all the new features are supported yet.
