Hi all,

I’ve downloaded swamp, and have it running on a SUSE 9.3 box.  It looks like it can do most everything we want, but I’m a bit curious about how to extend it.

In our case, we will want to populate some dropdown list boxes from our database, such that when a workflow begins, the initiator can select some choices from the dropdown.

As the workflow proceeds, other dropdowns will need to be populated so that selections can be made by other users of the workflow as well.

Our data is stored in a MySQL database, so that shouldn’t be much of a problem, however, I am not a Java person.

I see there is a script action for a velocity script, but I am unclear as to how powerful the velocity scripts are.

Can the workflow call to, for instance, a perl script at initiation or other times?

I haven’t quite got the Perl SOAP client installed, so I don’t know if that might be the proper mechanism.

Or is there a better way?

Many thanks.

Regards,

Rich
