connections: eliminate end.protocol, use end.client.ipproto
(no point hashing an end's client when it isn't correct)
One issue was with oppo_instantiate() vs instantiate(). When the
opportunistic template includes proto/port, instantiate() (acutally
update_end*()) looses those values, so oppo_instantiate() gets to put
them back.
I suspect the real issue is with the redundancy / inconsistency
between .has_client, .client{.is_set} and .config.client.*.
