Well, except that this is only accurate to two significant digits.  :P
You'd have to get exact birthdates from everyone for the digits after the
decimal point tomean anything, heh.

Hmm ... well, actually, this is what I expected.  Zork-on-mainframes has
not been around that much longer than Zork-on-personal-computers.  Also,
and more importantly, commerical personal computing gaming software just
didn't exist until the late 70's.  You can't really collect freeware
gaming programs like Roguelikes :)

That doesn't explain it all -- it used to be that the average age of
computer gamers was around 35-40 (this has been steadily declining for
several reasons), so you'd expect people who played lots of games in the
early 80's to be 55-60 today (eep!)  People don't typically feel nostalgia
for things that happens when they were 35-40; it's often things that
happened when they were kids or teenagers or in their early twenties.
And a big motivation for collecting is nostalgia.  So we're the lower end
of the 80's gamers, 15-20 years later.

That's my theory.
