I use NM (S) when there is actually a defect on the shrink itself. Like if there is minor but permanent crust or writing on the shrink. Or if it is a perfectly shrunk game with the smallest defect like an ever-slight bend or if it is slightly compressed -- because of the shrink -- in this case NM (S)(C)
I tend to be very strict, so it is rare that I do this, but I have done it. In fact, I just counted: Out of about 3000 entries, I have about 20 NM (S)(C), and about 4 NM (S). Most people would just call these MS, but because I'm being picky, I downgrade them. Oh ... I see where I use this quite a bit....it's NM (S)(T). I use this to denote what would be normally a MS game, except for a slight tear in the shrink. You can't call this MS, can you? But I don't think it is right to downgrade it to F either. I also remember us having a thread about (S)(T) being redundant, and it should just be (T), but you get the point. Hugh -----Original Message----- From: Lee K. Do you think if it has any defect whatsoever (e.g. bent corner), it's downgraded to Fine? Do you think if it (part of the contents) looks like it did when it came out of the package, it's Near Mint, despite any minor dings that occurred during shipping? I suspect I was very strict in my recent auctions and listed things as Fine others might have said were Near Mint. I'd rather be accused of being overly strict than overly lax. -- Lee K.
