Yes, there are many bugs when using wmode=transparent and various browsers.
This is not specific to SWFObject, but the Flash plug-in and the browser
implementation.
I personally try to avoid wmode=transparent for these sorts of reasons.
Google will be friend on finding a potential solution (or perhaps others on
the list will have specific knowledge on this)
