The SWFObject callback function is only called with a true / false value as
to whether the Flash Dom object was created or not for embedding, so that
option will not help in regards to doing something on the page after a
certain animation frame / time has been reached.

As Sam said, using ExternalInterface method to call a js function on the
page from within your Flash file is the best option. It could be setup to be
generic (called as a beacon every x seconds), or specific (called when frame
x or label x is reached in the timeline).

General Flash sites and Google are definitely the way to go on this.
