Thanks, Aran for your excellent response. That will work perfectly! Wish I had seen your answer sooner!! :-( This problem was driving me nuts so I had decided to abandon SWFObject just to get things going . . . got everything set up just perfect and now I'm having problem with the Javascript for Flash Detect. It works for some browsers . . . but not all -- specifically Opera (with flash loaded) and several mobile devices that don't have flash loaded. I've tried all kinds of things and thought I might go back to SWFObject if I have to but that means redoing a LOT of work! I'm willing to do it if I can find no other option . . . probably will go back to SWFObject just to make sure I do it right. In the hope of not redoing a full day of work, I submitted another question -- should have probably just replied to this one but didn't see the "reply" button until I had already submitted the other one. It's under nickname 'jacleaves' and at this point I'd like to know if there is some way to just detect Flash and not load or run anything. I'm using "Flash Detect" right now.
