I use the swfobect.js  from   http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/

The code to drive my fadethrough gallery is in a file data.xml
Its all very nice, but as I said tedious.  20 years ago we use to
write WYSIWYG GUIs to generate scripts for layouts so Im surprised
nothing exists for this.
