We had a routing problem because of a link to the USA that got looped in Geneva (down
in NY). The interface status was up
up(looped), the cause of that is unknown and the lines people are escalating this
(probably) Alcatel ADM bug to Alcatel.
The strange thing is that the BGP next-hop of the IBGP session on that link was still
valid (although the link was inoperating and
the BGP session was down). The consequence was that the packets coming to that router
towards the States were not routed.
The link is now up again (without loop...).
We apologise for all the inconvenience this had caused.
