Not allowing switch connections to an IXP switch is somewhat anachronistic. And IIRC AMS-IX also allows switch connections. Of course as an IXP operator you have to take care, i.e BPDU filtering/blocking. To make people more aware you may eben want to shut down the port if you see a BPDU frame. That's what AMS-IX currently is doing. DE-CIX just silently drops any BPDU frame received on a customer port and sends a notifocation to the customer. We would only take that port down if the customer constantly ignores our advice.
