Hello Hm - pardon my asking, but: What (legal) reason should a dial-up user have to send mail over his own mail server? I don't see the problem in banning *dial-up*-ranges of providers which repeatedly fail to prevent spam from sometimes repeatedly the same sources. Regards Fermin

**************************************************************************** English (translatet by http://babelfish.altavista.com) Ladies and Gentlemen In last time some Swiss Provider practice to close the entire IP Range from other Provider over those was sanded "unwanted mail (Spam)". Also we of Econophone was already block from Bluewin and are still block with Cabelcom, because somebody (Hegi/Fuerst?) over our InterNet dial UP connection send "unwanted Werbemail (Spam)". We consider such measures extremely doubtful, nevertheless in such a way thousands of "normal ones Let us May-learn" - private ones like also business - in email traffic obstructed not to only prevent thereby with notabene unfit means a Spam. Also we have ourselves in relation to of active anti-Spam organizations as "Spam [EMAIL PROTECTED]" or "SIUG" committed to proceed against SPAMer. It remains after-noticing again that there (still) is NO legal obligation for Provider to prevent Spam. Owing to a passage into our AGB we know however with suitable means, i.e. with the closing from a choice numbers over which a Spam were sent away, to work against. A closing from whole IP rank for Mailverkehr consider I against it totally unfit. I doubt even that such measures are right. In any case ones stand it in a glaring contrast to the thought of the "free InterNet", because so some "innocent InterNet user" are punished. And this possibly equal several times - once by a possibly received Spam, then by the blockade of sending, whereby most user due to the error message and call then on a most liable to pay the costs Hotline do not even have to know the reason. **************************************************************************** Mit freundlichen Gruessen yours sincerely Mike Zalaba IT-Service Switzerland Direct +41 1 455 81 35 Mobil +41 79 420 22 88 Econophone AG Weststrasse 117 CH-8036 Zürich Main +41 1 455 81 11 Fax +41 1 455 81 99 >>-----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- >>Von: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >>Gesendet: Mittwoch, 29.
