hellau

i do not think that this can be the solution. the internet is not
only located on port 21, 25, 80, 111 and 666 (for doom :-)). in
my opinion i'm not wanted to banned to those well known ports. i
want to share sources over the net (even it's kamikaze) and i
want to choose witch services i will run on my computer with my
licenced software.

1. if microsoft are not able to make a secure standard installation,
then it's their responsibilty to make it better and not patch it with
shutting down some internet functions.

2. another solution would be to sell only router-adsl-modems (with
some standard safe-ruleset)

3. or for providers; they could offering for their customers a basic
"iptables" firwall; surly with a web-gui (like a spam-filter for
e-mails).

and then comes a new type of e-mailvirus and...
so the user should know of pc-security, but...
we do have a av on our smtp. so many user say "aahhh.. then i don't need
any av-software"... explain, explain...

i will say: the securest way is to unplug the powercord of the pc.
there will never be a "unholed" system.

but you're right. maybe we should discuss to close some nice win-ports.
do have other systems the same "problem" ie mac, beOs....? which ports
sould we also close except the 135-139 445? what is then about open
internet?
