It sounds like you have the "sleep" timer set and the radio is in sleep
mode. You should have the manual for it. Page 5 has the description.
If you can not find the manual then you can down load a PDF copy from here:

When I had it, I never had the problem. You should also have the AC
adapter with it. The other possible problem may be the NiMh batteries
need to be recharge. Try operating the radio using only the AC adapter.
If it works then the batteries need to be recharged. If it does not
then it is the sleep timer is on and is set to zero (0) minutes.
