I just called the hotel and the desk clerk told me that a paper breakfast coupon is issued at check-in--but that it has the Room# printed on it and is *not* transferrable.

I don't know how they authenticate that the breakfast coupon presenter is the registered guest, but the clerk told me they do "backtracking" to prevent their breakfasts from being eaten by unauthorized eaters. Right...
