Yes, the corporate megamedia lobby will almost certainly appeal this local community broadcasting-friendly ruling to the Supreme Court--but only a small fraction of cases appealed to the Supreme Court are ever granted a hearing.

The Supreme Court generally chooses cases where decisions in different Federal appeals courts conflict with each other, and that's really not the case here. At the very least, this will hold off greater media consolidation for at least a year or two.

It's amazing that scrappy little grassroots organizations like the Prometheus Radio Project can hold up multibillion-dollar media mergers. It just goes to show that small groups of individuals without much money really can make a difference...
