Rich, take a look at the HTC VIEW. It supports a bluetooth keyboard in addition
to the on-screen keyboard, you can use a stylus to scribe notes on screen and
it is compatable with apps like "Blackboard" that many schools are now using.
There are Kindle and Nook apps as well so textbooks can be viewed on it. It is
WiFi enabled and can be connected to a cellular network(for a fee) when out of
WiFi range. They are being offered by several carriers, most notably Sprint.

Hey folks -
Three questions for those of you with tablet PCs: I have a colleague
looking to get one for a 17YO and it would be used for both schoolwork
as well as multimedia / social networking. Ease-of-use and reliability
are important.
Question 1: Can external keyboards be easily used with tablets for
typing-centric apps (e.g. word processing / presentation)?
Question 2: Or are tablets really sub-optimal for this task?
Question 3: If tablets are indeed suitable for this, which one would
you recommend, factoring ease of use, cost, and reliability?
