It's sort of like shortwave radio itself, right? Folks use a variety of platforms to interact socially, and sometimes these don't overlap...
Those who prefer shortwave, for example, risk losing out when broadcasters migrate to other platforms...and broadcasters risk losing part of their audience. Those who prefer an e-mail list and eschew Facebook lose out on its capabilities...
